At the April meeting the Lodge celebrated the 50th annivesary of W.Bro Norman Reekie being initiated into the lodge, Norman who is a Grand Lodge Officer, has led a colourful life working as an economist in various countries across the world for Multi National companies, and for a considerable time in connection with his career he lived and worked in Nigeria, where he rose in masonic terms to become the P(Dist) SGW, and later earned Grand Lodge honours and is now PJGD of the UGLE.

The anniversary was celebrated by a Full Provincial Visit from the PGM, who set about a sort of fireside chat with Norman outlining his masonic career, the facts of which as expanded on by Norman kept everyone spellbound, with his stories of Freemasonry in Africa and South America.

The Lodge, in appreciation presented Norman with a Decanter and Whisky Glasses suitably inscribed to commemorte the event, a Bottle of special reseve whisky making the presentataion complete.
